Lent

For Lent this year I have decided to give up three things. I am giving up Chocolate, Sweets and Meat. So in other words I am going vegetarian for a little while. The great things about giving up chocolate is because it will really test my will-power and by the end of it I hope to have gain something, same goes for sweets.

However with the vegetarian option, this is just so that I can experiment and start to get things out. I have always wondered what it would be like to go vegetarian and now for 40 days I can find out. So I know I am going to struggle but I will try to push on through it.

Wish me luck, let's hope that I can do this!

Volunteering

Today I am going to volunteer at a shop called Fara baby and kids.
I have to do volunteering for two reasons

  1. it is a good and moral thing to do
  2. I have to do it for my D of E award
basically my d of e award is like an achievement because in the year that you do d of e you have to do 4 things.
Volunteering (babysitting working in a charity shop…)
Skill (I'm playing guitar as my skill)
Physical ( Netball )
and then at the end you have to go on a hike to show teamwork and that you know your map and compass skills and setting up camp and stuff.

Anyway I'll be organising the shop so if anyone is in the Notting Hill area around that time, please do pop in.

Valentines Day

Valentines Day is your typical day where people who love each other get together and do something special, e.g. go out to dinner watch a film etc

Sometimes those who don't have someone they don't love like a boyfriend or girlfriend, can hate this day in particular but  I think that they don't really hate.

I have a theory that if they were in love and with someone special, then they would love it but since they haven't made the effort to do so then they aren't going to like it and might feel jealous or annoyed to those who are in love and happy.

So for those of you having a good day. Happy Valentines day.
And for those of you aren't. I hope you find love soon.

New Outfits

Tomorrow in school we have a mufti day which is supporting Green Week.
In other words we have to help the environment a lot for a week ( we already help in quite a bit)
So tomorrow we either have to buy something from a charity shop or wear something green, so I have decided to wear:
topshop trim cropped tee £12.00
                     zara biker trousers £29.99

zara black leather boots £70.00

This isn't the actual top, mine is a bit darker and longer on the sleeves but they didn't have it on the website.

Quick Money (in school)

Hi all,

so in school a lot girls do this thing where they sell cookies at break. At Sainsburys you can buy cookies, the most popular being triple chocolate, for £1.65 for a packet of 4 nice large cookies.

Now, in school some people have been selling one cookie for a pound which gives them a profit of £2.35 per packet.

Today I decided to join the trend, I brought in 4 packets of cookies, every single one of them sold meaning I got £16 with a profit of £9.40.

That means that I have nearly doubled my money in one day and if I did that 5 days a week then I would earn £47 a week!!

I think I am going to start doing this for quick and easy money!

Living healthy

As part of my New Years resolutions I have decided to start living healthier.

A key part of my new lifestyle will be exercise. I already do quite a lot in school including kickboxing with a team called chick boxing check out their Facebook page and Instagram down below. Netball with school, but I am thinking about joining an academy and general sport within school. However out of school I am deciding to start swimming, once I find a place for under 16s in a local area, parkour after school on Fridays and a website called FitnessBlender. I used fitness blender a little last year but now I would like to start programs and really getting into the lifestyle of a healthy person.

For the eating part of that I will start:
Drinking more water: I can do t his by taking the Volvic challenge, 1 litre of water a day minimum for 2 weeks.
Eating healthier: this includes a vegetarian day, lowering my carbohydrate intake, increasing m y veg and fruit. I will keep you posted
General health: Not too much chocolate or artificial sugars, I already don't eat that many artificial sugars but chocolate will be hard to cut down on….

Wish me luck in this "healthy" approach to my days.

New Year

Hi all,

I would like to sincerely apologise or not writing anything for the past 3 months.
They have been hectic
I had Christmas holidays on the 12th December to the 5 January during which my family and I went to Paris for New Years over 2 days
It was beautiful and  I absolutely loved it, family bonding is always great.

Recently we had New Years which my family and I spent in Le Meurice in Paris where I got to practise some french speaking skills: which suck!! c'était trés amusant
For m y New Years resolutions I have decided to:

  • Socialise outside of my comfort zone  more: so that I can expand my friendships outside of school and enhance my social life.
  • To live a healthier lifestyle: exercise often, eat healthy (with my parents' help) this is all working out so far.
  • To live in the moment: Don't let the past or future affect my decisions I need to learn to except the things around me and make use of what I have at my reach and then reach for the stars.

Motto of the month:       first reach what is in front of you then reach for the stars

Earthquakes and Hurricanes

In geography we are studying earthquakes, hurricanes, volcanos
basically hazards
so I would just like to point out that if you are not in a danger zone like the ring of fire then you are very ,very lucky because when you are in one of those danger zones then there are many floods, strong winds and dangers.

A lot of people die or are displaced, for instance in t he Philippines a few days ago Manila had a large storm hit them, and thousands had to evacuate.

Think about what you would od for work,
school
home
 safety
and family

What would you do, would love to here from y'all.
Email me if you have had any first hand experience as this would really help with my geography project.

How are we going to eat it all?!?!?!?
We are going to have to get my uncle to to take some home with him.
I'll give you the recipe because it is delicious

For the Pastry:
100g plain flour
50g coconut flour
80 g butter room temp. cut into small cubes
1 egg yolk
1 or 2 TBSP cold water
For savoury fillings add a little salt and pepper to flour
For sweet filling add 50 g caster sugar to flour

For the filling:
50g caster sugar
2 egg yolks
120 g Dark chocolate
70g desiccated coconut
3 TBSP cornflour
100 ml water

Method:
Preheat oven to 190 C / Gas 6

  1. put the flour and sugar/ seasoning into a mixing bowl
  2. Add the butter and use fingertips to rub the flour and butter and sugar/seasoning together so that it look likes breadcrumbs.
  3. add the egg yolk to the flour mixture
  4. Using a knife, add enough water to make a stiff dough. wrap in cling film and refrigerate for 5-10 mins
  5. press onto pie tin so that it is about 3/4 of a cm thick and thin on the side put greaseproof paper on top to weigh it down

Autumn

Autumn Is COMinG..!!

And I now need to plan my AUTUMN/WINTER clothing wardrobe!!
I'm thinking my main style will be jeans with a baggy jumper but I can't decide what coat I want to get.
Maybe a trench coat, or a boyfriend coat.

Not too sure yet,
but what I do know is that I want to save up for a pair of mid heel ankle boots, because I think that will look really awesome and would love to get that.

Since the cold weather is coming , it means it will be hot chocolate time!!!!!
And I get to bake brownies and loads of chocolaty 'vaguely' unhealthy things, hahaha ( When I was in spain I realised people say haha as jaja!!!)

Will show you a final compilation of what I am going to buy for my wardrobe.

xx

Image

I have an image, that I would like to share.
However I am not able to share it yet, because it has not been created.
I can see it in my mind
But I need to construct it.

It is a glowing fireball.
It needs practise
It needs perfection

It will be done.

First Day Back to School

Today was my first day back to school………

It wasn't actually as bad as you'd think
We changed classes, but it is a really nice class and I hope it will be fun to have a new class
I have okay teaches, not too much of a fan of teachers, but It's ok, I'm sure it'll all be fine.

Netball trials were also today,
da da daaaaa
There is gonna be four more netball trials before i really know whether i;m on the team, so crossed fingers!!

Teachers, surprisingly, didn't load me up with homework just a bit of reading and teachers checklist.
On the weekend I have to go and get all my new folders for school, cause I'm not sure how many subjects need it…

My friend gave me a really nice pencil case with an indian design with red elephants on a white background.

Wish me luck in Year 9!!

Memory

I would like to dedicate this post to all of those men, women and children who have lost their lives in Gaza at the hands of Israel.

Over 2000 Palestinians have died, I would like everyone to hold a minutes silence and pray for all losses.

More than 50% of Gaza's population are children aged under 18,
Over 500 of these children have died (although now it has probably increased)
380,000 Palestinians have been displaced
Another 10,300 are injured, to date
Enough damage to cost $34 million

And get this:
64 Israeli soldiers have died
3 Israeli civilians have died

Mallorca

Right now I'm in Mallorca, and I'm sorry for the lack of posts but I wasn't able to get access to a computer and may not have good access for the next 2 weeks.

I'm with family and family friends and it is great

Today was my first time ever on a JET SKI,
It was amazing,
but we only went 30mph…
It was still amazing and fun.

The house we are staying in is beautiful, right next to the sea, with
a pool
tennis court
basketball
BIG house
and a lot of land
Jet ski

It is so much fun and it is so hot.
I love it

Kids and Kites in Gaza

A new documentary, “Flying Paper,” takes us on a cinematic journey into the kite culture among Palestinian youth in the Gaza Strip, and their quest to shatter the Guinness World Record for the most kites ever flown.

Forgotten and Found

Forget about the pain that has been caused.
Forget about the grief.
Forget about how worlds have been destroyed,
How worlds have been created.

Remember the beauty instead,
The sliver of silver lining.
Even though it's in the past,
It will be Found again.
